Consulting Services

Impacting Autism Consulting Service provides families with individualized quality educational and behavior programming for your child. Impacting Autism provides individualized programming for all children and families. Introduction and initial consultations are free of charge. By getting to know you and your family our consultants are able to address your concerns, your goals, and provide and effective individualized programs for you and your child.

An assessment of your child’s skills and development will determine the programming that will be implemented. Impacting Autism utilizes various assessments to determine the starting point of your child’s ABA program.

Assessments that are used include The ABLLS -The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills, (Sundberg and Parrington, 1998), and The VB Map- Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program, (Sundberg, M., 2007).

Programming and curriculum development follows the natural progression of your child’s development and specific needs. Team meetings will be held according to your family’s needs in order to monitor your child’s progress, discuss parent/family concerns, therapist concerns and most of all discuss the great strides your child is making and what steps we should take next.

ABA Therapy Services

Impacting Autism employs a variety of highly qualified and trained therapist who have experience working with children diagnosed with Autism, ASD-PDD-NOS, Asperger’s, MR, ADHD, ADD, and Behavior Disorders.

Each of our ABA therapists are trained in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Verbal Behavior (VB), Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Specialized alternative forms of Communication Training.

 Learning should be fun and enjoyable. Derived from the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) we provide reinforcement to increase desired behaviors and ignore undesirable behaviors.

Our services focus on language development, increasing independence, increasing social interactions, and increasing your child’s educational performance.

Although we would love for one of our therapists to work with your child, if you feel that you would like to hire your own therapist Impacting Autism Consultation services will be very happy to train and work with your individualized home staff. Family Friends- Parent Support Services

This service provides quality childcare for families with special needs children. For many years Dianna Poulos, M.A. watched families with children diagnosed with special needs (ASD, Global Delays, and Developmental Disabilities) struggle with finding good childcare.

Realizing how important it was for babysitters and in-home support staff to be caring individuals who were knowledgeable and trained to work within the natural environment and community we have created Family Friends.

Any parent worries when leaving their children with babysitters. Knowing that your child is being cared for by a qualified individual who will engage your child in appropriate play activities, work in the natural environment on skills such as dressing, eating, playing, swimming or simply playing Ring Around the Rosie can provide great relief for parents who are in need of a night out on the town, rest and relaxation, a quick run to the grocery store or just a few hours to have some time for themselves.

This service is provided to relieve some of the daily stress that parents feel when trying to care for a household as well as themselves.
